The Summit

The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve is the fourth high adventure base welcomed to Boy Scouts of America just in time for the 2013 National Scouting Jamboree. Since our new high adventure base has such a lengthy name we lovingly refer to it as The Summit.  Comprised of 10,600 acres and situated in The New River Gorge in West Virginia the Summit has many adventures in store for its campers.

The Summit is now the permanent home of the National Jamboree.  This summer will mark the adventure of a lifetime at the Summit.  All of the activities the Summit has to offer will be available to Jamboree participants.  Mountain biking, zip line and canopy tours, skateboard courses, shooting courses and whitewater sports offers just a glimpse of all the Summit holds.
